Innovative cutting technologies do your machines incorporate, such as laser cutting, ultrasonic cutting, or waterjet cutting?
Since inventing the world’s first automatic hemming machine in the early 1960s, Schmale has built a legacy of continuous innovation, securing numerous patents for groundbreaking solutions in areas such as cutting and sewing technology, hemming systems, fabric transport, and entire manufacturing processes. This commitment to innovation has always been put into service of Schmale’s primary goal: to implement the best possible technical solution for each unique task. In the field of cutting, for example, Schmale machines utilize a wide range of technologies from modern and highly efficient adaptations of traditional blade-based methods to advanced techniques such as ultrasonic cutting.

Are there any advanced sewing techniques or technologies used in your machines, such as robotic sewing or 3D sewing?
Schmale’s origins lie in the field of sewing and sewing machines, allowing the company to build on a long history of innovations, particularly in sewing technology. Thereby the challenge lies in the integration of sewing heads in high performance and highly available automated environments. For increasing average speed, long-term performance and reducing wear and tear the development of dedicated software solutions managing processes on every level are crucial. Moreover, offering maximum flexibility in stitch types and maximum stability in process with proprietary mechanical  developments is the core of our advanced sewing technology.

Do you offer training programs for operators and maintenance personnel? What kind of maintenance and support services do you provide?
Yes, training operators and maintaining personnel are essential for the success of an automation project. Therefore, extensive training sessions are conducted during the commissioning phase of new machinery. These sessions primarily focus on practical exercises, where machines are explained in detail alongside the start of production. Our goal is to equip staff to operate the machines safely, efficiently, and, most importantly, independently. We offer first level support both onand offline either by our experienced and specialized service personnel or through our local long-term partner, Bakubhai Ambalal. Our main objective is to offer quick response and supply sustainable solutions to allow for highest process availability for our customers.

How your cutting and sewing solutions compare to traditional finishing methods in terms of sustainability through reduction in wastage?
In manual production, material waste primarily results from the inherently fluctuating quality of the final products, which is associated with high and unpredictable rejection rates. This problem is currently exacerbated by the increasing shortage of qualified and experienced sewing personnel. In contrast, our cutting and sewing solutions ensure the highest quality
standards throughout the entire production process. Firstly, minimal rejection rates directly reduce material waste in the sewing department. Secondly, more stable rejection rates allow e.g., for more accurate quantity planning and reduction of overproduction across all upstream processes, which can certainly make a significant contribution to improving the sustainability of the entire home textile factory. Highly precise and standardized processes do their part in minimizing waste such as trimming residuals and thread consumption.

What are the potential economic benefits or cost savings associated with using your solutions?
From a purely economic perspective, a solution is considered advantageous if it achieves the desired production quantity and quality at the lowest unit cost. Therefore, our machine development focuses on maximizing process efficiency and ensuring process safety. This basic idea is the foundation of our uncompromising commitment to superior quality in both machine components and design. Our goal is to optimize every parameter affecting machine efficiency, from maximizing availability and reducing setup times to simplifying operation and minimizing reject rates. By leveraging advanced technology and continuous innovation, we aim to provide machines that not only meet but exceed existing industry standards. It is the
combination of this continuous innovation and our longstanding dedication to precision and reliability that empowers our clients to reach competitive advantage and achieve lasting economic gains.

Questions related to Biancalani SrL

Bakubhai Ambalal, Biancalani’s long-term Indian agent, has played a crucial role in introducing advanced textile finishing solutions like AIRO®24 to India. The partnership began over 20 years ago, establishing a robust foothold for Biancalani’s technologies in India’s competitive textile market. What types of machines does the company offer for AIRO®24 solutions used in terry towels?
Biancalani’s AIRO®24 is a continuous open-width drying and softening machine known for processing textiles like terry towels. It enables high-efficiency softening and controlled drying, creating a premium hand feel in textiles, which is essential for terry Towel products.

What is the size and growth rate of the Indian market for AIRO®24 dryers? What are the growth potentials?
India, as the second-largest global textile manufacturer, represents a significant market for AIRO®24, especially given its growing focus on quality and sustainability in home textiles. Biancalani’s foothold is expanding, driven by an increasing demand for efficient and eco-friendly textile solutions. For Biancalani the Indian textile market is extremely positive: it has grown a lot in the last few years and we are optimistic that it will continue to grow further.

What specific regulations and standards does AIRO®24 address that are required by Indian customers?
AIRO®24 supports stringent environmental regulations by significantly reducing chemical usage, addressing India’s regulatory emphasis on sustainable manufacturing. This family of machine also aligns well with compliance needs related to lower emissions and waste reduction, making it suitable for environmentally conscious Indian textile producers .

What solutions does AIRO®24 provide for Terry Towel? Is AIRO®24 applied to the fabric before or after dyeing or printing?
AIRO®24 can be applied before or after dyeing or printing, enhancing the softness and quality of the final product. This machine’s controlled processing allows it to achieve a consistent finish without compromising fabric integrity, a key tool in terry towels.

What are the benefits of AIRO®24 for terry towel fabric compared to competitors?
AIRO®24 stands out due to its continuous open-width drying, which enhances the softness and fullness of textiles like terry towel. Additionally, its energy efficiency and reduced operational costs make it an attractive option over traditional drying and softening methods, providing a high-quality finish while maintaining costeffectiveness. According to our customers’experience, The Biancalani machines have a higher production capacity than those of the competition: and so this is a fact. Furthermore, the assistance service (pre and post sales) that our agent Bakubhai Ambalal is able to offer for the over 100 Airo 24 machines in operation in India, makes all the users of our machines feel safe. With this very efficient service, the users of Biancalani machines minimize waiting periods to the maximum, always obtaining the best performance from them.

AIRO®24 transports fabric by powerful airflows in a continuous open-width setting to soften and dry textiles efficiently. The unique combination of mechanical and thermal actions in the AIRO®24 improves the hand feel and volume of fabrics,  essential for high-quality home textiles.

How does AIRO®24 compare to traditional finishing methods in terms of sustainability?
Compared to traditional drying and finishing methods, AIRO®24 is more sustainable as it reduces energy and chemical consumption. Treatment times in AIRO 24 are considerably shorter than traditional finishing, this is because air transport has a notable capacity for extracting humidity from the fabrics being processed. This is particularly beneficial in markets like India, where environmental impact is a major consideration for manufacturers.

Are there any certifications or standards that AIRO®24 adheres to regarding environmental impact?
AIRO®24 supports adherence to various environmental standards, focusing on minimizing energy usage while lowering emissions, which is crucial for maintaining environmentally responsible textile production. AIRO®24 increases its process efficiency to a remarkable 95%, as attested by the certification “Clima Certified committed to low-impact machinery for textiles”.

What are the economic benefits or cost savings associated with AIRO®24?
AIRO®24 provides significant economic advantages by optimizing energy usage and minimizing chemical inputs, leading to lower production costs while enhancing fabric quality. This results in improved profitability for textile producers, making it a valuable investment for their finishing department and the Indian market.
