Overview :
India’s export market for toilet and kitchen linen of terry towels has shown steady performance, reaching US$ 1,078.8 million in 2023. The USA remains India’s top importer, followed by the UK and Australia. Despite challenges during the pandemic, India has rebounded, with renewed growth and a strong focus on high-quality, sustainable products driving its exports.
USA : The USA is India’s largest market, accounting for over 65% of its exports in this category. From US$ 676.1 million in 2016, exports saw a slight dip but regained momentum, reaching US$ 702.5 million in 2023. India’s consistent quality and competitive pricing make it a preferred choice for American consumers.
United Kingdom : India’s exports to the UK fluctuated, dropping to US$ 31.9 million in 2021 before bouncing back to US$ 54.7 million in 2023. This recovery reflects growing demand for Indian textiles post- Brexit and the rise of eco-friendly product preferences in the UK market.
Australia : Exports to Australia have been relatively stable, growing from US$ 33.4 million in 2016 to US$ 41.7 million in 2023. Australia’s increasing focus on high-quality, durable home textiles has bolstered India’s position as a key supplier in the region.
India’s Position :India’s global export strength lies in its ability to adapt to changing market demands while maintaining quality and cost-effectiveness. With increased focus on sustainability and eco-friendly manufacturing practices, India’s reputation in the textile industry continues to rise. Government incentives and global demand for organic textiles are expected to further strengthen India’s market share in the coming years.
